Bavar Torsional Constant

In concrete beams, if the beam is subjected to torsional moments, the beam section may not respond to the applied forces under the combination of torsional moments and other forces, and in order to respond from the section, it is necessary to increase the dimensions of the section, resulting in an uneconomical design.
In statically indeterminate structures, the code allows the amount of ultimate torsional moment applied to the section to be reduced to ϕTcr, leading to a redistribution of internal forces after the occurrence of torsional cracks. Due to this redistribution of forces, many sections will respond to the applied forces under the combination of torsional moments and other forces.
Changing the torsional stiffness coefficient of beams manually and controlling the amount of reduction of torsional moments with the allowed value of the code may require hours of time and lack sufficient accuracy.
Bavar Torsional Constant software is able to set the torsional stiffness coefficients of all statically indeterminate beams with maximum accuracy and speed by connecting to Etabs software and with a maximum number of attempts, and by doing so, the maximum capacity of the sections is used and it will lead to an economical design.
